Red Lights Flash

This permanent four-piece from Graz / Austria started off as a punk/hardcore band in 1997 and soon realised that it should be more about than just playing songs that you have probably heard too many times before. They definitely listened in music class: Experimenting with varied dynamics and tempos, using effective silences as well as 3 different voice-characters, fast-driven guitars and excellent drums, they managed to accompany meaningful messages with groundbreaking music full of passion and anger. In 1999, REDLIGHTSFLASH released their debut album "stop when..." on the vienna based punk label Remedy Records, followed by several shows in Austria and the first touring experiences in Europe.

With "and time goes by…", the second full-length in 2002, the band gained the opportunity to release on Householdname Records of London. This led REDLIGHTSFLASH to three European tours and five UK tours including tour supports for Anti-Flag, Capdown and Good Clean Fun as well as several support slots for bands like Good Riddance, As Friends Rust, Propagandhi, Strike Anywhere, Leftover Crack, Ensign, Union13, Hundred Reasons, Intensity, Grade, Int. Noise Conspiracy, Down By Law, 59 Times The Pain, Dropkick Murphys, Satanic Surfers, Such A Surge, Carthasis, All Systems Go!, Donots, Dillinger4, A.F.I., Strung Out, Diesel Boy, Agnostic Front, The Start and many more.

Enlarging this list with a numerousness of weekend and headlining shows outshone by the official Air and Style - Contest Aftershowparty and several festival appearances like Sziget, Primsrock or Donauinsel Festival, only to name a few, they have gathered around 400 little stories of raw, sweating and energetic punkrock experiences. 2004 sees REDLIGHTSFLASH releasing their third studio long player "free…" worldwide due to getting sensationally signed by the Anti-Flag owned label AF-Records from Pittsburgh, PA, USA as a result of doing the really successful Anti-Flag Tour Support in August 2003.

Since the release of this 13 tracks containing album they´ve hit the road for a one-month-coheadlining tour across Europe with their label mates from Pipedown and had the honourable opportunity to join the European Tour of Rise Against and Alexis on Fire in May 2005 followed by the Spirit Tour 05 supporting Anti-Flag. Furthermore, a headlining tour through Spain was in the works which they successfully passed in September.

Now, arrived in 2006, REDLIGHTSFLASH is still nuts about live appearances so they´re looking forward to their upcoming UK-Tour in April and taking part in the “For Blood and Empire – Tour” opening for Anti-Flag, The Unseen and A Wilhelm Scream.

They´re working intensely on both, performing live and writing new material to keep and boost the energetic flow within the band, on stage and the next album which they plan to record by the end of 2006.
Watch out! Thunder hits after you´ve seen and listened to REDLIGHTSFLASH!
